Role overview

This position is located at Asian Paints Doha Trading (APDT) in Qatar. The role focuses on building and growing the Protective Coatings business by selling products to both existing and new customers, strengthening relationships with key stakeholders, and helping improve sales, gross margin, market share, and overall profitability.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan regular visits to current and potential customers according to assigned territory goals.
  • Manage existing accounts effectively to grow business share within those customers.
  • Bring in new customers by explaining Asian Paints Berger Protective Coatings, arranging pre-qualification sampling, and handling commercial discussions.
  • Prepare quotations based on coating system requirements and relevant specifications, and finalize annual rate contracts with key accounts.
  • Meet monthly sales targets for the assigned territory while executing plans to improve margins, hit budgeted numbers, and expand market share.
  • Track and plan collections carefully so receivables are recovered within agreed credit terms.
  • Work with the Technology team to identify product gaps and contribute input for new product development.
  • Use CRM systems effectively to manage customer issues and drive closure of complaints.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with customers, contractors, applicators, and consultants to maintain satisfaction and long-term loyalty.
  • Position coating solutions with owners and consultants so the brand is specified on projects.
  • Follow project progress on site and provide technical assistance to support timely completion and required quality.
  • Manage account plans and collection performance to ensure payments are received within the agreed DSO and credit terms.
  • Create polished proposals and presentations to secure new business and grow existing accounts.

Required qualifications and experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering, preferably in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in B2B technical sales and business development, ideally in protective coatings, paint, or a related industry.
  • NACE certification or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
  • Comfortable working with CRM tools and MS Office applications.
  • Must be open to extensive travel for project sites and new territories.
  • Should show ownership, accountability, business drive, commercial awareness, stakeholder collaboration, and clear communication skills.
