Role Overview
This position is focused on managing site-level MEP execution for a project in Riyadh Region. The role covers coordination of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and ELV works, along with technical review, contractor management, compliance, authority approvals, testing, commissioning, and interface control across multiple work packages.
Responsibilities
- Oversee on-site MEP installation activities, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and ELV systems.
- Coordinate MEP execution with civil, structural, and architectural teams so that interfaces and sequencing run smoothly.
- Make sure site work follows approved drawings, method statements, and project schedules.
- Prevent clashes and delays by aligning MEP work with civil, architectural, and structural activities.
- Review and coordinate shop drawings, material submissions, and technical clarifications with consultants and subcontractors.
- Ensure installations comply with Saudi Building Code, Saudi Civil Defense, SEC, NWC, and other applicable authority requirements such as MODON.
- Help resolve design conflicts and site-related technical issues.
- Supervise MEP subcontractors and site labour to maintain productivity, quality, and safety standards.
- Track workmanship and uphold quality through inspections and regular site checks.
- Ensure subcontractors follow approved safety plans and HSE procedures.
- Arrange inspections and approvals with Saudi Civil Defense and other relevant authorities for MEP systems.
- Confirm that installations meet statutory requirements and are ready for testing and certification.
- Support procurement by reviewing technical specifications and helping assess suppliers and materials.
- Monitor the delivery, storage, and installation of MEP materials and equipment to avoid delays and quality issues.
- Verify that materials and equipment match approved submittals and project specifications.
- Track installation progress and report it against the project schedule.
- Coordinate pre-commissioning, testing, and commissioning activities for all MEP systems.
- Ensure as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and related documentation are prepared for handover.
- Identify and solve technical, quality, safety, and progress issues on site.
- Suggest constructability improvements and value-engineering ideas while keeping compliance and performance intact.
- Record lessons learned to improve installation efficiency and coordination.
- Manage interface risks created by split contracts and multiple subcontractors.
- Prepare and maintain interface matrices, responsibility demarcation documents, and sequencing plans to reduce scope gaps and interface issues.
- Maintain an active interface risk register and ensure responsibilities are clearly assigned and communicated.
- Run cross-trade coordination meetings and settle interface disputes between subcontractors to avoid delays and claims.
- Lead coordination workshops with consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to solve sequencing and interface challenges.
