Role Overview
The Process Technician role sits within the Production Department and reports to the Production Team Leader. It is a shift-based position involving 12-hour shifts, covering both days and nights, with weekend work included. The role comes with a competitive base salary, shift allowances, and additional benefits.
About the Company and Site
The Fermoy, County Cork facility in Ireland is FDA registered and certified to ISO13485:2016. It manufactures high-quality PCBAs, subassemblies, and complete devices, including Class III medical devices. The site specialises in manufacturing automation and supports the full product journey, from new product introduction, prototyping, and process validation through to high-volume manufacturing, testing, shipping, and repair. The plant has a 30-year record of strong operational performance and customer service, supported by an experienced workforce.

What You Will Be Responsible For
- Supporting the planned output of Class III medical devices by managing the day-to-day operation of a highly automated production process.
- Keeping machinery performing efficiently and minimising downtime.
- Investigating product defects and process issues, identifying equipment faults and functions, and carrying out adjustments and set-up tasks.
- Taking a practical, hands-on approach to solving problems, including machine failures and process improvements.
- Contributing to objectives linked to safety, product quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Spotting serious issues early and escalating them to senior support staff and engineering teams when needed.
- Helping with project activity focused on improving cycle time, yield, and overall process performance.
- Supporting engineers during the installation, commissioning, and validation of new equipment for high-volume production lines.
- Meeting operational measures such as line output, product quality, and equipment downtime resolution.
Requirements
- A minimum Level 6 qualification in electrical, mechanical, fitter, or a related trade area.
- At least 12 months of experience in automation control, toolmaking, maintenance, electrical work, or a mechanical/fitter role is preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and work effectively in a fast-paced production setting.
- Strong awareness of quality, compliance, and health and safety requirements.
- A practical, problem-solving mindset with the ability to work on equipment and process challenges directly.
