Pipe Fitter

Job Summary

This role focuses on pipe removal, templating, fitting, and reinstallation work carried out onboard vessels. It also includes hot work tasks such as grinding, gas cutting, and drilling, along with pressure testing of spools or systems when needed. You may also be assigned other related duties by the HOD.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure pipe fit-up is accurate, with correct edge preparation and the right root pass gap.
• Work collaboratively with the team and help maintain strong coordination on the job.
• Follow safety practices carefully to protect yourself and others.
• Report any issues or defects found in tools and equipment to the foreman or supervisor without delay.
• Keep the vessel and workshop clean, orderly, and safe at all times.

Key Requirements

• At least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in the marine or maritime sector.
• Strong communication abilities.
• Solid understanding of pipe fittings and pipe welding.
• Capability to suggest practical ideas or alternatives to complete assigned tasks effectively.
• Ability to spot problems and take corrective action.
