Its Lyra Empower platform combines high-quality care with AI-enabled technology in a single integrated experience.

About the Role

The People Operations Generalist serves as the primary HR operations partner for Lyra’s clinical workforce. In close coordination with the People Operations team, this role brings order, accuracy, and thoughtful execution to day-to-day HR processes that support clinical employees, along with other special projects. The position is central to the clinical employee journey, handling every stage from onboarding to offboarding with strong attention to detail and a service-oriented approach. You will convert strategy into operational execution by managing Workday processes, onboarding workflows, compliance training administration, and HR support channels. This role suits someone who values precision, enjoys being a dependable resource, and is motivated by helping clinical professionals stay focused on delivering excellent care.

Key Responsibilities

New hire experience

  • Coordinate a smooth and welcoming onboarding experience for the clinical employee population, working with cross-functional partners to ensure new hires are supported from pre-hire through their first weeks.
  • Present and keep the New Hire Orientation session current so it reflects the latest programs, culture, and resources.
  • Handle pre-hire and post-hire onboarding tasks, including WorkRamp assignments, I-9 tracking, Employee Handbook and Global Code of Conduct acknowledgments, background check coordination and monitoring, and preparation of new hire kits.
  • Continuously refine the clinical onboarding program with People Ops and Clinical Ops by incorporating feedback and proven practices that support retention and engagement.

Workday process execution

  • Process Workday transactions accurately and on time, including job changes, geographic location updates, name changes, and other organizational updates.
  • Act as a dependable contact for employees, managers, clinical leaders, and HR business partners seeking help with Workday-related processes, escalating complex items when needed.
  • Help document Workday procedures clearly to improve consistency and visibility for partner teams.

Offboarding

  • Manage a compliant and structured offboarding process in Workday for departing employees while preserving data accuracy throughout the transition.
  • Work with partner teams on system access removal, exit interview coordination, and proper documentation, keeping records audit-ready.
  • Support analysis of offboarding patterns to identify retention insights for the broader People team.

HR support and knowledge management

  • Respond to employee HR questions submitted through Workday tickets with prompt, accurate guidance.
  • Keep People Operations knowledge articles updated in Workday and, where relevant, Zendesk so they match current policies, processes, and FAQs.
  • Support HR bot enablement by maintaining clinical-specific knowledge content and helping analyze ticket trends to reduce repeat inquiries.
  • Lower ticket volume through proactive knowledge base updates and by routing complex issues to the right team members.

Compliance enablement

  • Administer and troubleshoot compliance learning assignments, including harassment prevention and California Workplace Violence training, to ensure completion and correctness.
  • Partner with People Operations and Compliance colleagues on operational compliance tasks for the clinical workforce.
  • Maintain personnel records securely and accurately in line with legal, regulatory, and data privacy obligations.

Special projects

  • Assist the People Experience team with culture-building efforts as needed.
  • Contribute to special initiatives that support People Operations goals, including process improvements, new tool rollouts, automation, and AI exploration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree plus at least 2 years of experience in HR generalist or HR operations work; experience in fast-growing, complex, or clinical settings is preferred.
  • Prior experience with an HRIS, ideally Workday, including business process execution and data accuracy management.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws; experience with clinical workforce or healthcare HR operations is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong ownership of accuracy and follow-through.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build trust across a remote, distributed workforce.
  • Highly organized and adaptable, able to juggle multiple priorities while maintaining responsiveness and quality.
  • Collaborative approach and comfort operating as an execution partner within a specialist team; able to follow direction and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Comfort using Google Workspace and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Exposure to AI tools or automation in an HR context is helpful.
