Role overview

The Human Resources team at the Königswinter plant in Germany is looking for a Payroll Specialist to manage payroll activities and related HR administration across several regions.

Key responsibilities

• Run payroll for active employees and retirees, and maintain the payroll system.
• Coordinate an external payroll provider for Austria, the UK, and Belgium.
• Prepare monthly reporting on workforce costs, payroll analysis, employee headcount, accruals, and annual pension valuation reports.
• Produce ad hoc payroll reports and calculate phased retirement arrangements.
• Support employees with payroll-related questions and concerns.
• Assist with the collective agreement-based performance evaluation process for hourly-paid employees.
• Handle tax calculations for international assignments and work with tax advisors on follow-up questions.
• Coordinate the company pension program in Germany.
• Prepare and support A1 certificates as well as wage tax and social security audits.

Profile and qualifications

• Completed a 3-year commercial apprenticeship, for example as an industrial clerk, or an equivalent qualification.
• Completed additional 1-year specialist training in HR/payroll administration.
• At least 5 years of experience as a payroll specialist in Germany.
• Solid understanding of HR processes.
• Practical experience with personnel cost reporting and with tax and social security topics.
• Familiarity with ADP/Paisy payroll software or a comparable system.
• Fluent German and good English skills.
• Strong communication abilities.
• Very good MS Office skills, especially Excel.
