Role Overview

This is a full-time, on-site OT Technician position in Bhawanipatna, Odisha. The selected candidate will help prepare the operation theatre before procedures by cleaning and disinfecting the area, arranging instruments, and checking that all equipment is working properly. During surgeries, the technician will support surgeons and nursing staff by passing instruments, keeping the sterile field intact, and following infection prevention standards. The role also includes preparing patients before surgery, assisting with post-operative care tasks, ensuring safe patient movement, labeling and handling specimens correctly, tracking OT consumables, supporting equipment upkeep, completing required records, and following hospital safety and quality protocols.

Qualifications and Requirements

The role is suited to candidates who have completed an OT Technician diploma, certificate course, or an equivalent paramedical program from a recognized institute. Prior work experience in an OT, hospital, or surgical setup is preferred. Applicants should understand operation theatre procedures, sterilization methods, and infection control practices well. They must be able to manage surgical instruments, devices, and supplies safely and efficiently. Strong coordination skills, clear communication, careful attention to detail, accurate basic documentation, and the ability to follow instructions are important. The job also requires physical stamina for long hours of standing, patient assistance, and positioning tasks. Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and emergency duty, is necessary based on hospital requirements.
