Deskripsi pekerjaan
Role overview
This is a remote contract opportunity for a biology research scientist focused on validating protein target assignments in large bioactivity datasets. The work supports model-led drug discovery by checking scientific accuracy across sources such as ChEMBL and BindingDB.
What you will do
- Review protein target mappings in large-scale bioactivity databases to support downstream discovery workflows.
- Use primary research papers and patents to evaluate whether UniProt identifiers have been assigned correctly.
- Contribute careful, evidence-based scientific judgments in a research-driven environment.
- Collaborate with a team developing next-generation discovery systems.
Work setup and engagement
- The role is fully remote with a schedule you can manage flexibly.
- Expected workload is 10 to 20 hours per week.
- The contract starts immediately.
- The initial engagement is expected to last at least 1 to 2 months, with a strong chance of being extended.
- Payment is made weekly through Stripe or Wise, and the work is performed as an independent contractor.
Candidate profile
The employer is open to scientists at BA/BS, MS, and PhD level, across experience ranges. Suitable candidates should have a background in pharmacology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or chemical biology, along with relevant industry, drug discovery, or CRO exposure.
Additional notes
This opportunity emphasizes high-judgment, science-first work. Applicants are expected to be comfortable handling nuanced target-validation and bioactivity interpretation tasks in a collaborative research setting.
