Role overview
Equans is hiring a Mobile Handyperson to support sites across Hampshire, with work focused on the Southern Water Estate. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary along with a benefits package.
Key duties
- Deliver both planned and responsive maintenance work across the Southern Water Estate.
- Assist helpdesk and operational teams with day-to-day maintenance tasks.
- Oversee subcontractors and escalate any problems without delay.
- Keep statutory logs and compliance paperwork accurate and up to date.
- Carry out water hygiene responsibilities, including legionella control checks.
- Handle general handyman work such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, and building repairs.
- Deal with deliveries, post, and parcels, and support office moves and relocations.
- Follow health and safety requirements and encourage safe working practices.
- Deliver a high standard of customer service, including support for front-of-house areas.

Candidate profile
The ideal applicant has experience in facilities management or a similar setting, communicates clearly, solves problems effectively, works well alone and as part of a team, and is comfortable using IT tools such as Word and Excel. A full UK driving licence is required, along with qualifications such as GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above and an IOSH Working Safely certificate. You should also understand health and safety legislation and good practice.
