Role Overview
We are seeking a Middleware Engineer for an onsite contract role in Singapore. The position requires deep hands-on experience in middleware platforms, application integration, automation, and Unix/Linux environments. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of relevant experience and strong communication abilities.
Core Technical Environment
- Middleware platforms: JBOSS, WebLogic, WebSphere, Apache, and IPlanet.
- Messaging and integration technologies: WebSphere MQ, Sterling CD, SFTP, and APIs.
- Infrastructure stack: Solaris, Linux, and Oracle Database.
- DevOps and automation tools: Jenkins, Bitbucket.
- Scripting and programming: Shell scripting, Python, and Groovy.
Role Expectations
- Administer Unix/Linux systems and manage middleware platforms effectively.
- Support deployment automation across middleware environments.
- Use DevOps tooling to streamline build, release, and deployment processes.
- Work with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle database environments as needed.
- Collaborate with teams and influence stakeholders through clear communication.
Key Requirements
- Overall experience of 5 to 10 years in relevant work.
- Proven background in building and supporting application middleware platforms.
- Practical experience with application integration platforms such as MQ and Connect Direct.
- Strong command over Unix/Linux operating systems.
- Ability to automate application deployment using Python, Groovy, or similar scripting languages.
- Solid understanding of messaging platforms used to build and support MQ and Connect Direct solutions.
- Familiarity with backup and restore procedures, disaster recovery practices, and load balancers.
- Experience installing vendor software products and documenting installation procedures.
- Capability to document technical architecture with server and network diagrams.
