Overview
Goodwill of North Georgia is seeking a full-time Merchandiser Grader in Pleasant Hill, Duluth, GA. This role supports a mission-driven organization that converts donated goods into store sales, job training opportunities, and community impact. By working in the store operations team, you’ll help create value for shoppers, support employment pathways for people facing barriers, and contribute to environmental sustainability by keeping usable goods out of landfills.

Role Summary
The Grader plays a key part in determining the quality of donated merchandise before it is sold in stores and online. Your work directly supports training programs for individuals with barriers to employment, so accuracy, efficiency, and consistency matter in this position.
What You’ll Do
- Inspect donated items carefully and assign appropriate grades
- Handle goods efficiently to help the team meet daily output targets
- Move between different work areas as needed to keep production on track
- Spot issues quickly and either resolve them or escalate them to leadership
- Communicate clearly with managers and coworkers
- Work collaboratively and contribute to a positive team environment
- Follow training materials, e-learning modules, playbooks, and work instructions
- Keep the workspace orderly, clean, and well organized
- Follow safety and security procedures, including reporting hazards and injuries
- Participate in all required trainings and meetings
- Carry out other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED is preferred
- Ability to support a strong guest-focused team culture
- Good spoken and written English communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working in a fast-moving environment
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Good organizational skills and sound judgment
- Must be 18 or older to be certified and licensed to operate a forklift; candidates aged 16 to 17 may not operate forklifts, balers, or compactors
