Role Overview

The Market Intelligence Analyst is responsible for gathering, interpreting, and presenting market information that supports business decisions. The role requires building a strong understanding of market size and segmentation, competitive activity, customer requirements, industry movement, and emerging opportunities. The position calls for strong research ability, data interpretation skills, and the capability to convert complex findings into practical recommendations for marketing, sales, product, and leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct primary and secondary research to understand market size, competitive positioning, customer preferences, industry shifts, and new growth opportunities.
  • Research opportunities related to new product development to help prioritise future R&D and business development directions.
  • Track competitors by reviewing their activities, market share, strengths, weaknesses, pricing, and go-to-market strategies, and prepare regular benchmarking updates.
  • Collect and analyse customer feedback, survey responses, and behavioural data to better understand customer expectations and needs, while working with sales and marketing teams to stay aligned.
  • Review information from internal sources, market reports, and industry publications to identify trends, patterns, and business opportunities, and share insights through reports, dashboards, and presentations.
  • Turn market intelligence into actionable recommendations on product positioning, pricing, launch strategy, and marketing initiatives.
  • Partner with marketing, product, sales, and leadership teams so that market insights are reflected in business planning and strategy.
  • Monitor industry developments, economic changes, and customer trends to support forecasting, scenario planning, and long-term strategic decisions.
  • Work with external research vendors and agencies to collect additional insights, manage research assignments, and strengthen the market intelligence capability.
  • Share relevant findings across the organisation to keep stakeholders informed about market trends and competitor movements.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a similar discipline; an MBA or other advanced qualification is preferred.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in market intelligence, market research, or competitive analysis, ideally within a B2B or technology-focused environment.
  • Strong analytical ability and the capacity to turn large data sets into clear, useful insights.
  • Hands-on proficiency with data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, and Tableau, along with exposure to CRM and market research platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex findings clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of competitive intelligence methods and standard research approaches.
  • Experience using databases, analytics tools, and research resources such as Gartner, Forrester, and IDC.
  • Availability to work on-site from Monday to Friday.
