Role overview
The bank is looking for an experienced professional to join the team in Dubai as Manager - Risk and Control. In this position, you will help strengthen operational risk practices, control frameworks, and business continuity readiness across assigned GBS areas, while also guiding team performance and ensuring alignment with internal policies.
Key accountabilities
- Lead the rollout of operational risk assessments and related policy frameworks, using key risk indicators to make sure risks are identified, monitored, and reduced in the assigned GBS areas.
- Oversee the risk and control self-assessment process, including control testing and implementation, in line with the bank’s operational risk requirements.
- Run and supervise due diligence reviews and challenge sessions to test the strength and reliability of processes and controls.
- Track, record, and manage operational loss reporting for the assigned areas, coordinating with GORM to meet operational risk obligations.
- Own and monitor the business continuity management framework, including impact analysis, recovery arrangements, and disaster recovery drills, to ensure the setup remains resilient and responsive.
- Repeat ownership of the business continuity management framework responsibilities for assigned GBS areas, as stated in the source, covering impact assessments, recovery sites, and disaster drills.
- Manage your own work and support team management in line with ADCB people policies, procedures, and standards to improve contribution to business outcomes.
- Coordinate and supervise team activities so targets are met and the business plan is delivered in accordance with required processes and systems.
Required experience and background
The suitable candidate should bring at least 6 years of experience in operations or banking services, including a minimum of 3 years focused on risk management. A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a comparable discipline is required. Strong MS Office skills, familiarity with banking systems, excellent written and spoken communication, and solid analytical and logical reasoning are also expected.
