Role overview
As Manager Business Development, you will concentrate on selling clinical and development opportunities. Your work will focus on finding new business, shaping sales strategies, and creating strong relationships with internal teams and external partners.
Key responsibilities
- Identify potential customers, run outreach and cold-campaign activities, and help build outbound prospecting workflows together with the Business Development Executive team.
- Plan, steer, and monitor sales and business activity for assigned accounts in coordination with management.
- Lead negotiations for contract manufacturing, clinical development, formulation, and packaging services.
- Develop and strengthen long-term customer partnerships.
- Prepare and deliver business proposals spanning development through commercial production, including opportunities to combine service offerings strategically.
- Spot new business possibilities, market segments, customer demands, and industry trends.
- Represent the company at trade fairs, conferences, and seminars to build market visibility and generate leads.
- Collaborate closely with Marketing and Research & Development on projects such as market research and sales enablement.
- Act as a proactive, technically aware and customer-focused link between clients and Simtra Commercial teams to support an excellent customer experience.
Requirements
- A completed degree in chemistry, industrial engineering, or a related natural sciences discipline.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in business development, sales, or a similar role.
- Background in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or healthcare, ideally with exposure to antibody-drug conjugates (ADC) or contract manufacturing environments.
- Experience in process development or commercial manufacturing within sterile injectable products is an advantage.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and confident communication and negotiation skills.
- A high degree of initiative, personal organization, and a practical, hands-on working style.
- Professional fluency in English.
- Willingness to travel 30% to 50% of the time.
