About the role
Tata Consultancy Services is looking for an experienced Linux Engineer to support advanced administration across enterprise and hyperscaler environments in Hyderabad/Bangalore. The role calls for deep troubleshooting ability, strong infrastructure knowledge, and hands-on exposure to modern cloud, container, and automation tools.
Key responsibilities
- Administer Red Hat and SuSE Linux systems at an advanced level and diagnose complex operating system issues.
- Work with core networking technologies including TCP/IP, IP routing, NAT, and firewall configuration.
- Manage critical network services such as DNS, LDAP, and HTTP proxies.
- Support hyperscaler compute and storage administration.
- Maintain hyperscaler networking components such as VPCs, subnets, route tables, security groups, NSGs, and NAT gateways.
- Administer and troubleshoot container platforms and Kubernetes clusters.
- Use monitoring and IT service tools such as Nagios, Prometheus, and ServiceNow.
- Apply security best practices, with emphasis on operating system hardening.
- Automate server and infrastructure tasks using scripting and automation tools.
Required experience and expertise
- Strong background in Linux administration, especially Red Hat and SuSE environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues independently.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals and enterprise network services.
- Practical experience with hyperscaler infrastructure and cloud networking.
- Knowledge of containers and Kubernetes administration.
- Exposure to monitoring, incident, and service management tools.
- Working knowledge of security hardening practices for Linux systems.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Shell, Perl, Python, or Go, along with Ansible for automation.
