Role overview
As a Kitchen Porter, you will be an important part of the kitchen operation. This is a practical, busy position focused on keeping the kitchen clean, orderly and running efficiently while supporting chefs during service and helping uphold strong hygiene standards.
Key duties
- Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised kitchen throughout service
- Wash dishes, cookware and kitchen tools to a high standard
- Help chefs with simple preparation work and other general kitchen tasks as required
- Handle waste disposal and recycling in a responsible manner
- Support the team with deliveries and stock organisation
- Consistently follow food safety and hygiene procedures
What we’re looking for
You should be dependable, willing to work hard and happy to contribute wherever needed. The role suits someone who is comfortable in a fast-moving kitchen, works well with others and takes pride in doing things carefully and properly. Good organisation and the ability to stay efficient under pressure are important. Prior kitchen experience is useful but not required, as full training will be provided.
