Company Overview
Tropikal Resort is a private seaside resort in Albania, set just south of Durrës along the Adriatic coast. Known for its mix of comfort, style, and scenic surroundings, the resort is a favourite for family holidays and leisure travellers. Guests can enjoy a 1,000 m² beach area, an outdoor swimming pool, a Splash Park, and multiple dining venues on site, including La Citarella Restaurant for Italian dishes, Breeza Beach Club for snacks and cocktails, and La Verbena for garden-view meals. Sea-facing rooms add to the relaxing guest experience.
Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site kitchen support position in Durrës. The kitchen helper assists the culinary team with routine prep work, keeps service areas tidy, and helps the kitchen run smoothly during meal periods.
Key Responsibilities
The role involves supporting cooks and chefs with day-to-day kitchen tasks, maintaining order and cleanliness across work areas, and helping with timely food service for guests.
- Wash, peel, chop, and portion ingredients as required for preparation.
- Support chefs and cooks during meal production and service.
- Assist with plating and arranging dishes for service.
- Keep counters, utensils, tools, and equipment clean and properly organized.
- Follow strict hygiene and food-safety practices at all times.
- Store ingredients correctly and help manage kitchen stock safely.
- Dispose of waste in a safe and sanitary manner.
- Coordinate with front-of-house team members when support is needed.
- Contribute to efficient, smooth service for resort guests.
Qualifications and Expectations
Applicants should have a solid base in food preparation and cooking support, along with a practical understanding of hygiene and food safety. Experience in food and beverage service within a hotel or resort environment is helpful, especially with basic menu and meal-period awareness. A guest-focused mindset, good communication, teamwork, and the ability to follow instructions are important. Candidates should also have the physical stamina to stand for long periods, handle moderate lifting, and work in a busy environment. Prior experience in a professional kitchen, restaurant, or hotel is beneficial but not mandatory.
