Role Summary

This is a full-time, on-site Junior Trader position in New York, NY. In this role, you will assist senior traders with trade execution across equities, futures, and other instruments, while helping ensure orders are entered correctly and allocated on time. The job also includes tracking global markets and individual companies, checking trade blotters, supporting pricing and liquidity review, and performing basic risk-related checks. You will work closely with portfolio managers, operations, and compliance teams to resolve trade issues, fix discrepancies, and keep records accurate. The position also involves contributing to market research, preparing short reports, and helping improve trading processes, tools, and operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support senior traders in placing and executing trades in equities, futures, and related instruments.
• Make sure order entry and trade allocation are completed accurately and within required timelines.
• Follow global market movements and monitor developments in individual companies.
• Review trade blotters and assist with checks related to pricing, liquidity, and risk.
• Work with portfolio managers, operations, and compliance teams to address trade-related issues.
• Help identify, investigate, and reconcile discrepancies in trading records and transaction data.
• Assist in maintaining organized and accurate trade documentation and records.
• Contribute to market research and prepare concise reports for internal use.
• Support improvements to trading workflows, tools, and procedures.

Requirements

• Strong numerical and analytical ability to interpret market data, pricing information, and risk indicators.
• Good knowledge of financial markets, investment products, and basic trading principles; finance internships or academic project work are advantageous.
• Excellent accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to stay organized while working under pressure.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills for effective teamwork across functions.
• Comfort using Excel and other analytical tools; exposure to trading platforms, market data systems, or coding languages such as Python or SQL is helpful.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a similar field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• High ethical standards, sound judgment, and responsibility when handling sensitive financial information.
• Eagerness to learn, openness to feedback, and adaptability in response to changing market and business needs.
