Role Overview
As a Junior Payroll Specialist, you will help ensure employees are paid correctly, on schedule, and in line with legal rules as well as internal policies. The position supports payroll operations across multiple EU countries and serves as a dependable contact for employees and external vendors. It also offers practical learning exposure to more advanced payroll matters through close cooperation with experienced colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of payroll operations for several EU countries from start to finish.
- Complete payroll processing within required deadlines while following company rules, working-time regulations, and labor legislation.
- Check payroll computations such as earnings, deductions, taxes, and employer-related costs before approval and funding.
- Prepare general ledger files and work closely with the Finance team.
- Manage day-to-day communication and working relationships with payroll vendors.
- Assist with audits, regulatory checks, and other payroll-related inquiries.
- Implement updates driven by legal changes, corporate instructions, business requirements, or process improvements.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures for the countries assigned to you.
- Respond to employee questions and support daily payroll operations.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in payroll operations.
- Good understanding of payroll workflows and compliance obligations.
- Strong spoken and written English skills.
- Practical knowledge of Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills in particular.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking.
- Strong planning, organization, and time-management abilities.
- Ability to manage several tasks, coordinate priorities, and adapt in a fast-moving environment.
- Customer-focused attitude with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
