IT Operations Manager

About the role

This position calls for a seasoned manager to oversee IT infrastructure, daily operations, and cybersecurity for the organization. The focus is on keeping technology services secure, reliable, and efficient, while strengthening resilience, discipline, and ongoing operational improvement across the environment. The ideal person will bring strong technical depth along with proven leadership and governance skills.

Core responsibilities

• Run the company’s enterprise technology environment, covering data centers, cloud and hybrid setups, networks, firewalls, VPNs, connectivity, servers, storage, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Maintain strong service availability, scalability, and performance across all IT platforms.
• Oversee infrastructure lifecycle tasks such as end-of-life and end-of-support planning, capacity management, upgrades, and licensing.
• Lead IT operations using ITIL and IT service management practices, including incident, problem, and change management.
• Put structured processes in place through SOPs and runbooks, and use operational KPIs to track and improve performance.
• Work toward service availability of at least 99.9%, improved MTTR, and stronger service reliability.
• Shift the function from reactive support to proactive operations.
• Handle day-to-day cybersecurity operations, including identity and access management, vulnerability management, patching, monitoring, incident response coordination, and endpoint/infrastructure security.
• Protect the business from cyber threats while supporting continuity of operations.
• Prepare regular updates on security posture and operational risk.
• Build and maintain disaster recovery plans, backup and restore methods, and support periodic DR testing and readiness reviews.
• Ensure critical systems, including ERP platforms, remain resilient.
• Deliver infrastructure and security projects such as cloud, network, and resilience initiatives, and ensure they transition smoothly into steady-state operations.
• Manage external partners such as cloud vendors, telecom providers, and managed services firms like SOC partners, while keeping SLA and enterprise standard compliance on track.
• Lead, coach, and develop the infrastructure, operations, and security team.
• Encourage accountability, knowledge sharing, solid documentation, and the removal of single points of failure.

Requirements

• 12 to 15 years of experience in IT infrastructure, operations, or cybersecurity.
• At least 5 years in a managerial position.
• Practical exposure to hybrid environments that combine on-premises systems with cloud platforms.
• Working knowledge of ITIL practices and enterprise IT operations.
• Experience with cybersecurity operations and related tools.
• Strong leadership, judgment, and decision-making ability.
• A structured, process-oriented approach to work.
• Excellent troubleshooting and incident-handling skills.
• Ability to balance security controls, system performance, and business priorities.
• Preferred: ITIL v4 certification.
• Preferred: Azure certifications.
• Preferred: experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
