Installation Technician – Mechanical (Airport Security Systems)

Role overview

We are hiring two skilled Installation Technicians to help install security lanes at Cork Airport in Cork, County Cork, Ireland. The assignment is centred on hands-on mechanical and physical installation work, not IT or electrical engineering duties.

Project details

The engagement is expected to run for 7 to 8 weeks, covering June and July, with a possible extension into August. The role is available to start immediately. The project involves installing around five security lanes at the airport.

What you will work on

• Setting up airport security lanes
• Installing automatic tray return systems (ATRS)
• Removing equipment modules from pallets
• Shifting, lifting, and placing heavy equipment
• Carrying out mechanical assembly and system integration
• Helping with basic electrical integration while being supervised
• Supporting testing and commissioning activities

Working schedule

The schedule runs from Monday, starting at 11:00 AM, through Friday, finishing at 12:00 PM. Work during the middle of the week follows standard business hours, and the timetable is arranged to allow travel to and from the site.

What we are looking for

Applicants should have practical experience in mechanical installation, construction, or another similar manual, hands-on role. The job requires comfort with physical work and familiarity with equipment assembly and installation.

Other conditions and notes

A valid Safe Pass is mandatory for this position. Personal protective equipment is required. An airside pass is not needed. The work is physically demanding and labour-intensive, with regular handling of equipment. Candidates from mechanical, construction, or rigging backgrounds are especially well suited to the assignment.
