Role overview
EXALTA is hiring a process-oriented and people-focused Manager of HR Operations to establish the operational backbone for a growing HR function. The position works at the point where policy, process, and employee experience meet, with responsibility for shaping and improving how HR operates across the business.
You will be accountable for designing and running HR processes, policies, and practices that bring consistency, compliance, and clarity to employees and people managers. Because the organization is in the middle of a full HR integration, success in this role depends on your ability to navigate complexity while keeping employee experience front and center. The role reports to the Senior Director, HR Operations & Total Rewards.

Core responsibilities
You will lead the operational side of the HR integration, align policies and programs across entities, and help create future-state processes that are scalable and easy to understand. The role also includes cross-functional HR operations support, policy ownership, compliance oversight, systems partnership, and people leadership as the team expands.
HR integration and process design
- Direct the HR integration workstream by aligning policies, practices, and employee programs across different entities.
- Review the current state of HR operations and build future-state processes that emphasize simplicity, consistency, and scale.
- Create integration plans, timelines, and change management approaches together with HR leadership.
- Act as the operational authority for HR policy and help ensure alignment across business units.
Cross-functional HR operations
- Manage HR operational activities such as onboarding, offboarding, job changes, leave administration, and employment verification.
- Serve as the main HR contact for operational escalations and resolve issues quickly and thoughtfully.
- Work closely with Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, and HR business partners to ensure smooth transitions and a consistent employee journey.
- Spot inefficiencies and process gaps, then turn those insights into improvement initiatives with the HRIS Manager.
Policy and compliance
- Own the creation, upkeep, and communication of HR policies and employee handbooks.
- Ensure HR operations remain compliant with federal, state, and local employment laws, with Legal support when needed.
- Build and maintain standard operating procedures for all core HR operational activities.
Systems and data partnership
- Own the operational side of HR data integrity, including what data is collected, how it moves, and how it is used.
- Partner with the Manager, HRIS & Analysis to turn operational needs into system setups, automation opportunities, and reporting needs.
- Contribute to ADP Workforce Now governance by sharing business requirements for system changes and enhancements.
People leadership and culture
- Set the tone for a collaborative, high-performing culture within HR Operations.
- Potentially supervise coordinators or specialists as the function grows.
- Champion employee experience at every HR operational touchpoint.
Qualifications
- At least 7 years of progressive HR experience, with a strong emphasis on operations.
- Proven experience supporting or leading an HR integration, merger, or major organizational change.
- Strong working knowledge of HR policy, employment law, and compliance practices.
- Solid process design and project management abilities, with the capability to move ideas into execution.
- Hands-on familiarity with ADP Workforce Now, including data structures and collaboration with HRIS teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex HR operations to different audiences.
- High emotional intelligence and comfort working in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field is required; SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR is preferred.
- Track record of improving HR process consistency and the employee experience in measurable ways.
