Job purpose
The hospital manager will provide strategic and operational leadership to drive excellence in healthcare delivery, ensure full compliance with approved health regulations and standards, and strengthen both financial sustainability and care quality in line with leading international benchmarks and Saudi Vision 2030.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as business administration, economics, healthcare administration, nursing, pharmacy, medicine, or an equivalent qualification from an accredited university is required. A master’s degree in healthcare administration (MHA) or business administration (MBA) from an accredited university is mandatory. A PhD in healthcare administration or healthcare management is a strong advantage.
Experience
Candidates should bring at least 15 years of experience in the private healthcare sector, including 7 continuous years in a hospital manager or senior deputy manager role. Proven experience managing a private hospital with a capacity of at least 150 beds is required, along with a documented record of achieving financial and operational targets for no fewer than 3 consecutive years. Prior involvement in establishing and launching a new hospital is considered a major advantage.
Mandatory requirements
Successful hands-on leadership through a CBAHI or JCI accreditation cycle is required. Strong knowledge of Nefes, NPHIES, CCHI, billing, and collections systems is essential. Experience serving on the board of directors of a private hospital with at least 200 beds is a highly valued advantage. Candidates must also have full P&L and budget management experience, possess a CPHQ, FACHE, or CHAM certification, have experience preparing multi-year strategic plans for board presentation, understand Vision 2030 requirements and healthcare transformation programs, and be fully fluent in both written and spoken Arabic and English at an executive level.
Key responsibilities
Lead and manage all operational and strategic hospital functions.
Oversee compliance with Ministry of Health regulations and the requirements of the Saudi health accreditation authority.
Develop and strengthen the executive leadership team while fostering a culture of organizational excellence.
Represent the hospital in front of government entities, community stakeholders, and strategic partners.
Drive quality initiatives, patient safety efforts, and improvements in patient experience.
Monitor financial and operational performance and submit regular reports to the board of directors.
