Role Overview

The Founding CTO will take ownership of the company’s technology direction and serve as a key leadership figure at GoRider Enterprises. This is a full-time position based in Port Harcourt with a hybrid working setup, requiring regular on-site presence along with some remote execution of duties. The role focuses on guiding software development, defining architecture standards, and supervising the creation and release of transportation-focused products and platforms. The CTO will work closely with the founders and other business leaders to connect technical planning with broader company goals, shape product and technology roadmaps, and decide which features should be delivered first across both new and existing solutions.

Technology Leadership

In this role, you will also be responsible for growing and coaching the engineering team, setting development and deployment standards, and ensuring that every system is built to scale, remain secure, and perform reliably. The position calls for a hands-on leader who can balance strategic thinking with practical execution while helping the company build a strong technical foundation.

Qualifications

• You should bring substantial experience in software development and system architecture, with the ability to create secure, scalable solutions for transportation or similar use cases.
• Solid project management capability is needed, including the ability to plan work, set priorities, and drive complex technical initiatives to completion.
• You must be able to translate business goals into technology strategy and product direction.
• Experience in recruiting, developing, and leading strong engineering teams is important, especially with a collaborative and inclusive leadership style.
• Hands-on knowledge of current development frameworks, cloud environments, and DevOps practices such as CI/CD, containerization, and monitoring is expected.
• Strong communication, issue-solving, and stakeholder management skills are essential, including the ability to explain technical matters clearly to non-technical partners.
• Experience in transportation technology, mobility solutions, or startup/founding-team settings will be a strong advantage.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline is preferred, though equivalent practical experience is also acceptable.
