Job Summary

The Facility Sanitation Technician is responsible for keeping the building and facility clean, organized, and sanitary. This role focuses on cleaning offices, lunchrooms, restrooms, warehouse areas, and related equipment within the distribution center.

Key Duties

• Carry out the master sanitation plan as scheduled.
• Keep warehouse and facility equipment clean, including crates, 4-yard waste bins, inspection tables, anti-fatigue mats, railings, floors, air handling units, and floor scrubbers.
• Check restrooms and facility areas throughout the day, restock supplies, and clean as needed.
• Inspect equipment and the facility for any damage and escalate issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Perform deep cleaning of production lines on a weekly and monthly basis.
• Complete weekly ATP monitoring and document the results.
• Mix chemicals and monitor PPM levels each week.
• Operate a floor scrubber to keep warehouse floors clean.
• Empty waste containers and use a forklift to move garbage to outdoor bins.
• Help maintain physical security, food safety, and health and safety standards at all times.
• Complete additional core duties as assigned by the company.

Requirements

• Secondary school diploma or an equivalent qualification is required.
• At least 1 year of experience in facility sanitation or a similar role is required.
• Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.
• A positive, hardworking, honest, and balanced approach to decision-making is expected.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are needed.

Working Conditions

Work hours may change based on business requirements, so flexibility is important. The job involves frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, handling objects with the hands, climbing ladders, using a scissor lift, operating a pressure washer and floor scrubber, and reaching with the arms.

This position is based in a refrigerated warehouse environment. Temperatures may vary, and the area can be noisy because of packaging machinery and forklift activity. The role also requires regular walking and lifting up to 30 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
