Opportunity

Alberta Health Services is seeking a reliable and driven Environmental Services II team member to support healthcare cleaning operations at Stettler Hospital and Care Centre in Stettler, Alberta. This role is focused on delivering high-quality, safety-conscious cleaning and disinfection services in a healthcare setting, and training will be provided to meet Alberta Health Services standards and procedures.

Work schedules can include day, evening, and weekend shifts.

Role Summary

In this position, you will help maintain clean, safe, and sanitary conditions across both clinical and non-clinical spaces within the facility. Duties may involve cleaning patient rooms, offices, common areas, and staff/public spaces, along with handling supplies and supporting day-to-day housekeeping functions.

Duties

• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors throughout the facility.
• Restock washroom supplies and replenish cleaning materials and linens as needed.
• Remove linen, make beds, and support room turnover tasks.
• Operate industrial cleaning equipment used for floor care and restoration.
• Clean ceilings, windows, and other high-touch or hard-to-reach areas.
• Dispose of hazardous waste according to required procedures.
• Watch for possible safety concerns and report them to the Working Leader.
• May assist with orientation or training for Environmental Services or Laundry staff.

Qualifications

Applicants should have completed Grade 10 or an equivalent level of education. Comfort using computers and smartphones is also required. The role calls for someone who can remain on their feet for long periods, perform repetitive movements across a shift, and handle the physical demands of the job, including lifting up to 25 lbs and pushing or pulling up to 50 lbs of force.

Preferred Background

Prior cleaning experience is an advantage, and experience in a healthcare cleaning environment would be especially valuable.
