Role overview
MatchWorks is seeking an Employment Consultant to support people as they work toward meaningful employment. This position focuses on building trusted relationships, understanding each participant’s abilities and goals, and offering practical guidance that helps them become work-ready and confident.
MatchWorks is part of genU, a profit-for-purpose organisation committed to reducing barriers to work and helping job seekers secure and sustain meaningful jobs while building long-term careers. Its services include government-funded Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) and Workforce Australia programs.
Role location and employment details
This is a permanent full-time role based in Gosnells, Western Australia, on Wajuk Noongar Country. The position is job number 3382.
Salary is offered at $65,000 to $72,000 plus superannuation and not-for-profit salary packaging benefits. Leave entitlements include 13 days of personal leave, 10 days of wellbeing leave, and 20 days of annual leave.
What the role involves
In the Workforce Australia team, you will work closely with participants to identify their strengths and career goals, connect them with the right opportunities, and help them progress toward sustainable employment.
You will also act as a link between job seekers and local employers by highlighting each participant’s skills and potential. In addition, you will help connect participants with training, health, and community support services and assist them in creating practical career plans that strengthen confidence and long-term prospects.
What you need to bring
The role calls for strong communication skills so you can support participants and engage effectively with external stakeholders. You must also be able to prepare accurate documentation and keep compliance records up to date in line with Workforce Australia requirements.
You should be a collaborative team player who demonstrates professionalism, a positive approach, and maturity in the workplace.
An NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Module Certificate are required, and support will be provided to guide you through these steps.
Additional experience preferred
Experience in customer service, recruitment, or employment consultancy will be regarded positively. It is also an advantage to be comfortable using Microsoft Office and case management systems.
