Role Summary
The Education & Programs Manager will lead the creation and delivery of education and talent development initiatives for members. The role focuses on building learning experiences that support professional growth, address business and industry priorities, and serve people at different career stages. Programs may be delivered in person, online, or through other formats, based on the audience, topic, and intended learning outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, build, run, and oversee education and talent programs that are engaging, distinctive, and strong in quality, while also handling associated logistics and budgets.
- Work with internal teams and outside stakeholders such as subject matter experts, volunteer groups, and members to identify the needs of each audience.
- Contribute ideas that help shape the long-term direction of education and talent programming.
- Review programs and internal processes on an ongoing basis so offerings continue to meet member needs, organizational objectives, and portfolio goals.
- Identify and propose new ways to deliver content across platforms so programs can reach more people and provide greater member value.
- Coordinate budgets and logistics for assigned programs and events, including participation in annual planning and business planning activities when needed.
- Keep education and talent offerings visible across the organization and support stronger communication and collaboration among internal teams.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with staff, members, volunteers, and external partners.
- Advise other departments on how to deliver content effectively to live, virtual, and on-demand audiences.
- Take part in staff meetings and workgroups by sharing ideas and practical insight from program development through execution.
- Escalate issues to the Education and Talent Director when attention is needed and make timely decisions when required.
- Continue building personal skills and professional knowledge through learning, workshops, and seminars.
- Stay current on education design practices and industry trends, and apply that knowledge to program development.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree is required.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in content development or training development and delivery is preferred.
- Strong understanding of education design, adult learning principles, and modern content creation and delivery practices.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and use sound judgment in decision-making.
- Strong critical thinking and project management skills, with the ability to execute work quickly and accurately.
- Comfort working in a startup-like environment with a high level of initiative.
- Experience adapting educational content for multiple delivery channels and audience touchpoints.
- Knowledge of digital learning engagement approaches and content lifecycle management.
- Ability to turn educational programs into scalable, year-round content experiences.
- Experience using audience insights and engagement data to improve participation and learning outcomes.
- Familiarity with multimedia content creation, virtual learning tools, and on-demand learning platforms.
- Strong editorial judgment, storytelling ability, and content planning skills.
- Willingness to travel 5 to 7 times per year.
Measures for Success
- Help strengthen the year-round value portfolio by producing relevant, globally applicable, and differentiated educational content that exceeds participant expectations.
- Earn an average program evaluation score of at least 4 out of 5.
- Ensure communication across staff and volunteers is clear, timely, detailed, and appropriate.
- Meet deadlines for planning, communications, and budget processes while staying within budget targets.
