Role overview
This position supports the Constituency Office in managing community volunteers and helping to coordinate the setup, growth, and consolidation of grassroots organisations at constituency level. The work contributes to stronger social cohesion, racial harmony, and community connection.
Key responsibilities
The role focuses on coordinating volunteer engagement, building partnerships, supporting publicity efforts, arranging training, managing resources, and maintaining accurate records and reports.
Engagement with internal and external stakeholders
- Spot causes, interests, and volunteering opportunities that may appeal to individual or group volunteers from different sign-up channels such as referrals, the Community Marketplace, the CV Secretariat, or PA units, and connect them to suitable ongoing or new initiatives.
Partnership management
- Work with the Constituency Office team to develop and deepen volunteer individuals, groups, and networks at division level.
- Encourage volunteers to act as PA ambassadors in support of People-to-People, People-to-Government, and Government-to-People objectives.
- Align volunteers and volunteer roles with the needs of internal and external stakeholders at division level.
- Share useful practices with internal and external partners through appropriate platforms.
Marketing and communications
- Promote the Community Volunteer Scheme to raise public awareness and secure support from grassroots leaders and stakeholders in the division.
- Collaborate with external partners to cross-share content on each partner’s publicity channels.
- Build and maintain a collection of stories and materials that showcase community volunteer management work.
- Keep the calendar of local programmes updated to support the overall marketing plan for the scheme.
Training and development
- Work with other PA units and external partners to identify suitable training options for staff, grassroots leaders, and community volunteers.
Resource planning and compliance
- Allocate and deploy community volunteer-related resources within the Constituency Office, including administering the community volunteer grant where relevant.
- Follow internal controls, standard operating procedures, and templates to ensure proper accounting, tracking, and compliance.
Data management and reporting
- Prepare templates to record volunteer data and their participation at the division.
- Submit regular updates and reports on community volunteer management activities and outcomes.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate has an interest in or prior exposure to community work, stays informed about current affairs and national policies, and keeps up with community news. Strong English writing skills are required. Knowledge of Mandarin, Malay, or Tamil is an advantage, including the ability to speak and proofread written content. The candidate should be comfortable using social media, enjoy networking and collaboration, and be a motivated team player.

Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted. Shortlisted candidates will attend a structured interview conducted by the organisation. Successful candidates will be offered a 3-year contract and deployed to the Constituency Office or Community Club.
