Commis I - Butchery

About the Role

This full-time, non-management kitchen position is based in Doha, Qatar, and is focused on butchery operations within food and beverage preparation. The role supports the delivery of high-quality meals and service standards in a luxury hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

You will prepare specialty dishes and substitute menu items as needed, manage oven, broiler, grill, and roaster temperatures, and move food from freezer storage to the refrigerator for thawing. The role also involves controlling portions, arranging plates attractively, adding garnishes, maintaining food logs, and checking the quality and volume of prepared food. During busy service periods, you will coordinate support as required, inform the chef about surplus ingredients that can be used in daily specials, and update service staff about specials or unavailable items. You will also cook according to recipes, quality benchmarks, presentation rules, and preparation checklists, including cold food production.

In addition, the position requires supporting management with recruiting, training, rostering, performance evaluation, counseling, discipline, and motivation of team members. You are expected to act as a positive example, follow company and safety procedures, report maintenance issues, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions, and complete required safety training and certifications. Professional appearance, confidentiality, guest awareness, effective communication, teamwork, and consistent adherence to standards are essential.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time onsite role in Um Al Saneem Street, Doha, Qatar. The schedule is full time, and the position is not remote.

Eligibility and Experience

A technical, trade, or vocational school qualification is preferred. Candidates should bring at least 3 years of relevant work experience. No supervisory background is required, and no license or certification is needed.
