Role Overview

Dexterra is seeking a dependable, detail-focused Cleaner to help maintain a clean and sanitary workplace. This position is responsible for cleaning assigned spaces, protecting and organizing the tools and equipment used in daily tasks, and carrying out additional duties when requested.

This role requires the ability to obtain reliability clearance.

Key Duties

• Carry out complete cleaning of assigned areas such as floors, washrooms, shared spaces, offices, and entrances.
• Keep flooring in good condition by vacuuming carpets and using both dry and wet mopping methods.
• Dust reachable surfaces including countertops, pillars, light fixtures, window ledges, and vents.
• Clean and polish office furniture and glass surfaces.
• Spot-clean walls, partitions, switches, and doors as needed.
• Use cleaning tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Restock cleaning materials and restroom supplies as required.
• Empty waste containers and ensure garbage is disposed of correctly.
• Disinfect frequently touched surfaces to support a hygienic environment.
• Inform the supervisor about repair concerns or potential safety risks.
• Follow all workplace safety procedures and cleaning expectations.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial or industrial cleaning is preferred.
• Experience using equipment such as auto scrubbers, swing machines, or burnishers is considered an advantage.
• WHMIS certification is preferred, though training may be provided if needed.
• Strong eye for detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
• Good organizational ability and time management skills.
• Comfortable working alone as well as with others.
• Physical capability to lift up to 25 lbs, bend, stoop, and remain on your feet for up to 8 hours per shift.
• Positive mindset and strong work ethic.
• Successful completion of a clear criminal background check is required.
