Role Overview
The Cladder will be responsible for measuring, fabricating, and installing cladding on HVAC and mechanical systems, ensuring a neat, durable, and weatherproof finish across ducts, chilled water lines, process piping, valves, flanges, vessels, tanks, and related equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Fit aluminium, stainless steel, galvanized iron, and similar sheet metal cladding over insulated HVAC ducts, chilled water pipelines, process piping, valves, flanges, vessels, tanks, and equipment.
- Carry out measuring, cutting, bending, rolling, fabrication, and fitting of cladding sheets in line with approved drawings and site conditions.
- Build and install removable cladding covers for valves, strainers, flanges, and other components that require maintenance access.
- Produce elbows, reducers, tees, end caps, valve enclosures, and other custom cladding parts from sheet metal.
- Fasten cladding using rivets, screws, bands, pop rivets, sealants, and other approved fixing methods.
- Maintain correct overlap, sealing, weather protection, and overall finishing quality for all cladding work.
- Interpret HVAC drawings, piping isometrics, P&IDs, general arrangement drawings, and insulation drawings accurately.
- Work closely with insulation teams to confirm that insulation is completed properly before cladding begins.
- Repair or replace cladding that is damaged during construction, pre-commissioning, or maintenance work.
- Operate sheet metal tools and fabrication equipment safely and effectively.
Qualifications and Requirements
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience working as a cladder on HVAC or oil & gas projects.
- Vocational training, trade certification, or another relevant certification.
- Hands-on experience with cladding for HVAC ductwork, chilled water piping, process piping, vessels, and mechanical equipment.
