Role Summary
The Casting Assistant is a full-time position that can be based in Boston, New York City, or performed remotely in a hybrid-style setup. This role supports casting and talent scouting work by managing audition coordination, keeping casting records current, and facilitating communication among clients, casting professionals, and internal staff. The position also involves reviewing submissions, arranging audition calendars, tracking client availability and bookings, researching upcoming projects and market activity, and helping with casting for commercial and digital media projects. The assistant will work closely with agents and team members to maintain high service standards, keep information accurate, and support sound casting decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with day-to-day casting and talent scouting operations while supporting agents and internal staff.
Coordinate auditions, prepare schedules, and keep casting materials organized and accessible.
Review talent submissions and maintain up-to-date casting databases and records.
Support communication between clients, casting directors, and the agency team.
Track client availability, bookings, and related casting activity accurately.
Research upcoming productions, projects, and broader industry trends.
Assist with casting needs for commercials and digital media projects.
Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to efficient decision-making in the casting process.
Qualifications
Applicants should bring strong communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with talent, clients, and industry professionals.
Prior exposure to casting work and an understanding of commercial project workflows are preferred.
Research capability is important for finding opportunities, collecting project details, and monitoring industry developments.
Strong organization, careful attention to detail, and comfort using scheduling and database tools are expected.
