Role overview

This position sits within the Procurement function in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, and supports the delivery of major projects. The role is centered on pre-award purchasing work, making sure project materials and equipment are sourced in a timely, competitive, and requirement-aligned manner.

You will help drive strong procurement outcomes by steering tender activity, coordinating bid assessments, and contributing to award recommendations. The position calls for commercial judgement, precision, and the ability to work smoothly with multiple stakeholders in a busy project setting.

Key responsibilities

• Own the pre-award procurement process for project materials and equipment.
• Work with internal teams to confirm technical needs, delivery timing, and logistics requirements.
• Draft and issue invitation-to-bid packages, including commercial terms and conditions.
• Run bidder prequalification, selection, and approval steps.
• Manage the end-to-end tender process while maintaining confidentiality, probity, and compliance.
• Carry out commercial assessments covering pricing structures, Incoterms, and payment milestone terms.
• Examine supplier exceptions and deviations and recommend outcomes that align with contract requirements.
• Prepare award recommendation documents and assist with purchase order processing and handover.

About you

You are a procurement professional with a commercial mindset and experience handling purchasing work in a project environment. You understand procurement workflows, contract law, and commercial risk management, and you are confident in negotiation and stakeholder engagement.

Your background includes sourcing capital equipment or materials, using procurement systems, and managing bid processes from start to finish. You are organised, able to work to tight deadlines, and comfortable in a fast-moving environment. Experience in EPC or EPCM projects, international procurement exposure, and familiarity with global supply markets would be an advantage. A relevant tertiary qualification, along with knowledge of Incoterms, logistics, and total cost of ownership, will be viewed favourably.
