Role overview
Beyond Bank Australia is seeking a Business Analyst to support complex initiatives within its PMO. This role sits in a customer-owned mutual bank with a strong community focus, B Corp credentials, and a culture built around inclusion, collaboration, and purpose-led work. The position is based in Melbourne and offers hybrid working arrangements.
The successful person will partner with technical specialists, business leaders, subject matter experts, and frontline teams to clarify needs, test assumptions, and develop practical solutions that deliver measurable business improvements. The role calls for strong analysis, confidence in stakeholder engagement, and the ability to challenge ideas constructively while keeping projects moving forward.
Key duties
- Support complex projects under the guidance of the Project Manager and help deliver clear, measurable business efficiencies.
- Operate within the organisation’s change and project delivery frameworks.
- Run stakeholder discussions, workshops, and consultations to capture business requirements and map operating processes.
- Prepare project scopes, business requirements documents, and inputs for proposals, business cases, and related project materials.
- Build benefits models that demonstrate strategic and operational value from delivered work.
- Assess specifications and business cases produced by other teams for possible projects or improvement opportunities.
- Assist with implementation activities and transition work into business-as-usual operations.
- Support project managers and the PMO with timeline and budget estimation.
- Provide status, progress, and issue updates to the Project Sponsor.
- Work with sponsors to resolve issues when needed.
- Create process flow diagrams and logical data models.
Candidate profile
You should be an organised, detail-focused professional with a solid grounding in business analysis and an understanding of banking and finance. The ideal candidate can work independently, communicate clearly, build effective stakeholder relationships, and manage several priorities at once. Experience in business process improvement and familiarity with BABOK practices are important, along with confidence in running workshops and working across both business and technical teams.
Additional information
You will join the PMO team, a group known for its collaborative approach and commitment to delivering strong outcomes. The environment is varied and fast-moving, with no two weeks the same.
The bank encourages applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people living with disability, LGBTQIA+ applicants, and culturally diverse community members. It is also committed to accessible recruitment and employment. Candidates who require adjustments for the application, recruitment, selection, assessment, or workplace access process can contact recruitment@beyondbank.com.au.
Benefits and workplace support
- Three additional paid days each year to support work-life balance.
- Paid volunteer days to contribute time to community charities across Australia.
- Access to staff discounts, health and wellbeing programs, and employee and family assistance support.
- Flexible and diverse working conditions.
- Career development, training, and coaching opportunities.
Recruitment process and conditions
The selection process may include a phone screening, video interview, virtual or face-to-face interview, psychometric assessment, and all relevant background checks. Some roles may require four weeks of mandatory full training.
Applicants must consent to pre-employment screening at the employer’s expense, including APRA, ASIC, Bankruptcy, National Criminal History Check, VEVO, Adverse Media Check, and Reference Checks.
Applications close on 18 July 2026, and may close earlier if interest is high.
