Architectural Project Manager

Overview

Zawaya Albina Engineering Consultancy is looking for a seasoned Architectural Project Manager to lead architectural work in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time on-site role requires someone who can combine technical depth with strong coordination and project delivery skills. Early availability is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee architectural and engineering assignments from the starting phase through final handover.
• Direct architectural design teams and coordinate with consultants from multiple disciplines.
• Examine architectural drawings, detailed design packages, specifications, and all project outputs.
• Interpret structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety drawings.
• Maintain seamless coordination between architectural work and all engineering disciplines.
• Spot design clashes, technical gaps, and missing details before drawings are released.
• Assess shop drawings, material submittals, technical submissions, and method statements.
• Build and manage detailed schedules covering activities, durations, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.
• Track progress against the approved programme and flag potential delays or risks.
• Issue schedule revisions, progress updates, recovery strategies, and short-term look-ahead plans.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, authorities, and internal delivery teams.
• Handle permit-related needs, authority submissions, approvals, and follow-up actions.
• Confirm that design work aligns with the Saudi Building Code, local rules, and authority requirements.
• Run technical and progress meetings and ensure action items are completed.
• Inspect site activities to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project expectations.
• Make sure project documentation is complete, well-coordinated, and issued to required quality standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in architectural design and project management.
• Background in engineering consultancy environments is highly desirable.
• Strong technical grasp of complete architectural and engineering drawing sets.
• Working knowledge of structural, MEP, fire, and life safety systems.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate and review multidisciplinary drawings.
• Capability to detect technical mistakes, design conflicts, and coordination issues.
• Solid experience with detailed drawings, construction documents, and site coordination.
• Good understanding of the Saudi Building Code and applicable local regulations.
• Hands-on experience with building permit procedures, municipal submissions, and authority approvals.
• Familiarity with municipality, Civil Defense, and other authority requirements.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Experience preparing, updating, and tracking project schedules.
• Ability to evaluate delays and develop recovery plans.
• Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
• Good English proficiency.
• PMP certification is considered an added advantage.
