Role Overview

This position is based at Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara in Doha, Qatar. The role sits within Minor Hotels, a global hospitality group with a portfolio of more than 530 properties across 50+ countries in Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, the Indian Ocean, Europe, and South America.

What You Will Do

• Follow all operating procedures, checklists, and work instructions consistently and to a strong standard.
• Prepare facilities and any required equipment or areas before daily use.
• Handle a mix of pool-related duties, including cleaning, front desk support, and administrative tasks, based on operational needs.
• Open and close the centre according to published operating hours and ensure the venue is ready for public use in line with health and safety rules.
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene throughout every shift.
• Keep watch over the pool area, assist any swimmer in trouble, and provide lifesaving first aid when required.
• Carry out regular pool-water chemical checks and report any results that do not meet the required standard to the Duty Manager or Maintenance Engineer.
• Perform routine plant room checks and maintenance, including filter backwashing.
• Attend training sessions whenever requested by management.
• Keep constant supervision of guests and respond immediately and appropriately in emergencies to protect their safety.
• Provide emergency care and treatment until medical services arrive.
• Present a professional image and maintain a service-oriented attitude at all times.
• Carry out maintenance tasks as directed to help keep the facility clean and safe.
• Prepare and maintain relevant activity reports.
• Complete other job-related duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications

The role is intended for candidates with 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar position within a luxury hotel or resort. Strong communication and interpersonal ability are essential. Applicants should be physically fit, able to stand for long periods, swim when required, and take part in light athletic activities. The job also calls for the ability to lead group activities such as games, fitness sessions, or arts and crafts.
