Role Summary

This position is for an experienced and meticulous Tailor to support the Housekeeping department at a luxury resort. The role is essential in keeping uniforms, guest garments, linens, and related items in excellent condition so the property can maintain its high presentation standards.

Key Duties

The Tailor will manage hotel tailoring activities and assist the Laundry and Linen Room operations, while also supporting the Laundry & Linen Room Supervisor with day-to-day departmental work. The job includes repairing and altering staff uniforms, room linen, and food-and-beverage linen, along with handling guest laundry items that need adjustments or repairs.

In addition, the role covers restoring guest clothing on request and making sure completed items are returned within the agreed service time. The Tailor must help preserve the guest experience by ensuring all garments and linen are finished to a high standard and delivered promptly.

The selected candidate will also join daily team briefings, stay updated on hotel activities, and build familiarity with the resort’s facilities and services. Another part of the job is keeping adequate supplies of tailoring materials such as thread, buttons, and other repair items.

The workspace must remain tidy and well organised, and the sewing machine and related tools need to be kept in proper working order through regular care and maintenance. The Tailor is also expected to follow the hotel’s grooming and professional appearance standards at all times.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have prior tailoring experience, be highly attentive to detail, and be capable of producing quality work in a busy hospitality setting. The role also requires the ability to support the Housekeeping and Laundry teams effectively.

Additional Information

Previous experience with Opera or a similar system is preferred.
