नौकरी का विवरण
Role overview
We are looking for an R&D Chemist with a reliability-first mindset to guide the creation, refinement, and technical direction of advanced polymer, composite, and hybrid material systems for high-reliability microelectronics applications.
This position calls for a chemist with strong formulation expertise and a deep grasp of material reliability, degradation pathways, and long-term behavior under combined stress conditions. The selected person will be responsible for formulation strategy within their technical area, make independent technical choices, and move materials concepts from early-stage development to stable, manufacturable implementation.
The role also requires working knowledge of several resin families, hybrid systems, and ceramic or inorganic filler technologies, along with a strong focus on failure prevention, reliability, and performance over time. In this position, you will serve as a technical reference for material behavior, formulation trade-offs, and reliability risk.
Key responsibilities
- Own the development and optimization of polymer and hybrid formulations, with clear accountability for long-term stability, resistance to degradation, and reliable performance under thermal, mechanical, electrical, and environmental cycling.
- Set formulation direction across multiple resin platforms by balancing chemistry selection, reliability risk, performance needs, and manufacturing practicality.
- Choose experimental approaches and development priorities independently, using technical judgment to guide the work.
- Direct the design of formulations that include ceramic and inorganic fillers, along with functional particulates, modifiers, and reinforcements.
- Build clear structure–property–reliability links by evaluating filler choice, surface chemistry, loading levels, dispersion quality, stress distribution, damage tolerance, and failure initiation.
- Make formulation decisions while remaining accountable for downstream reliability outcomes.
- Go beyond simple specification compliance by spotting early signs of degradation and reliability concerns.
- Assess how sensitive materials are to process variation and extreme use conditions.
- Use formulation adjustments to reduce thermal fatigue, coefficient of thermal expansion mismatch, interfacial delamination, adhesion loss, and long-term chemical, mechanical, or structural instability.
- Convert failure analysis findings into proactive design improvements for materials.
- Carry out hands-on blending, formulation, and materials development at laboratory and pilot scale.
- Ensure that concepts can be transferred into reproducible, manufacturing-ready material systems.
- Consider how formulation choices affect process windows, manufacturing consistency, field reliability, and performance margins.
- Work closely with process and design engineers, reliability and failure analysis teams, and manufacturing and operations stakeholders.
- Lead troubleshooting and optimization using real application behavior and field performance, not only lab data.
- Conduct benchmarking and competitive evaluations focused on durability, reliability margin, and long-term robustness to support technical and strategic decisions.
Qualifications and experience
- A master’s degree or PhD in Organic Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, or Materials Science is required.
- Your academic background should be supported by strong hands-on formulation experience.
- Ideal candidates bring 5 to 10+ years of industrial experience leading formulation-centered materials development in microelectronics or electronic materials, reliability-focused materials work, or advanced polymers, composites, or hybrid systems.
- You should have direct ownership of formulation development and technical decision-making rather than only executing assigned tasks.
- Exposure to failure analysis, reliability testing methods, and degradation or lifetime studies is strongly preferred.
- Experience working as a technical contributor or subject-matter expert across projects or platforms is highly desirable.
