Packaging Designer

Role overview

Amiee Lynn Inc. is looking for a Packaging Designer who can combine creative thinking with strategic execution across print and digital touchpoints. The person in this role should be comfortable taking ownership of the full design journey, from initial concept through production, while contributing both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

This position is based in New York City and follows a mandatory hybrid arrangement: three days each week in the office and two days working remotely. The schedule is fixed and cannot be adjusted.

What you will do

• Partner with the VP of Design and other departments to shape, build, and roll out design strategies across print and digital communications.
• Share feedback that helps move projects forward and improves the quality of the design work.
• Manage time effectively to produce polished output in a fast-moving, deadline-heavy environment.
• Develop packaging and display mechanicals that are fully prepared for press production.
• Work closely with the Packaging Manager to protect the design intent throughout the packaging development cycle.
• Capture product photos and retouch images when needed for packaging or display materials.
• Coordinate with multiple internal teams to support packaging requirements and timeline commitments.
• Keep track of current design trends and use research to stay creatively current.
• Contribute fresh creative references and help strengthen the creative and technical capabilities of both yourself and the team.
• Oversee the packaging proofing workflow, collect all required internal approvals, and communicate feedback to the graphics team overseas.

Requirements and qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in packaging design, specifically within soft accessories categories.
• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• A strong eye for design, typography, and color.
• Genuine interest in beauty and fashion, along with a commercially minded approach to product details.
• A self-driven, motivated, and outcome-focused working style.
• Hands-on experience with licensed brands and the ability to apply brand style guides to new product lines.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Well-developed creative thinking, conceptual development, execution, organization, and design capabilities.
• Prior experience producing ready-for-print mechanicals.
• Working knowledge of photography and photo retouching.
• Experience working across teams to solve problems collaboratively.
• Clear communication and confident presentation skills.
• Ability to plan and prioritize work across the team so seasonal deadlines are met.
• Adaptable mindset with the ability to shift direction quickly when needed.

Work arrangement

This is a contract role with a hybrid schedule. The role requires in-office attendance three days per week in New York City and remote work for two days per week.
