Role overview
The Maintenance Scheduler plays an important part in Nyrstar’s asset management setup, helping keep site maintenance activities running efficiently. The role focuses on building and coordinating a weekly integrated maintenance plan so equipment availability and reliability are improved while statutory requirements and site procedures are met. The position also contributes to ongoing improvements in maintenance performance across the departments.
Key duties
- Maintain compliance with safety, health, and environmental requirements.
- Plan, prioritise, and sequence work to support strong plant performance.
- Support longer-term planning to improve equipment availability and reliability.
- Provide training and assistance in using the work order system effectively.
- Drive improvement initiatives that strengthen maintenance performance.
What you need to succeed
- A trade qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Confident computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical thinking and practical problem-solving ability.
- Clear communication skills with the ability to influence others.
- Ability to stay effective under pressure in a busy, demanding setting.
- Exposure to SAP is an advantage.
- Experience with cost tracking and spreadsheet work is desirable.
- Ability to explain new ideas and technical information in a simple, understandable way.
- Background in coordinating and scheduling work activities.
- Self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
