Kitchen Support Expert

Role Overview

This position sits within the Food & Beverage and Culinary function at W Hotels in Vagator Beach, Bardez, Goa. It is a full-time, non-management role that supports kitchen cleanliness, ware handling, waste control, and safe day-to-day back-of-house operations.

Core Duties

• Run and care for cleaning tools and equipment, such as dishwashers, hand-wash stations, pot-scrubbing areas, and trash compactors.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, storage spaces, tables, utensils, knives, and other equipment.
• Accept incoming deliveries, store food items correctly, and follow stock rotation practices for perishables.
• Make sure clean dishes and wares are placed in the proper storage locations.
• Use detergent, rinse agents, and sanitizing chemicals in a three-compartment sink to wash dishes.
• Check cleaned items, stack them properly, and return anything still dirty for another wash cycle.
• Spray rack-loaded items with hot water to help remove stuck-on food.
• Sort, soak, and rewash silverware as needed.
• Clear and break down dirty bus tubs.
• Empty trash containers, maintain bin areas, and keep the dumpster zone clean.
• Sweep, mop, and clean assigned work areas across the department.
• Dispose of glass in the correct safety containers.
• Break down cardboard and place it, along with other recyclables, into recycling bins.

• Follow company rules, safety procedures, and security guidelines at all times.
• Report maintenance issues, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to the supervisor or manager.
• Complete required safety training and certifications.
• Protect company property and equipment.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with coworkers and leaders.
• Build positive working relationships and help the team achieve shared goals.
• Maintain expected quality standards in all assigned work.
• Handle physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing items up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Be prepared to stand, sit, or walk for long periods and perform bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, and pulling movements.
• Take on other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

No high school diploma or GED equivalent is required. This role does not require prior related work experience, supervisory experience, or any license or certification.
