Overview
VG Meats is hiring a general farm worker for its location in Simcoe, Ontario, Canada. This role is based on site and must be performed in person; remote work is not available.
Role Summary
The position involves a broad mix of livestock care, farm upkeep, and routine agricultural support. You will assist with day-to-day farm operations across animal handling, cleaning, monitoring, and equipment use.

No degree, certificate, or diploma is required.
Experience
Previous experience is not required, as training will be provided.
Work Site Environment
This work takes place in beef cattle ranching and farming, including feedlots, as well as livestock combination farming. The environment is outdoors and may involve dust, heat, noise, odours, wet or damp conditions, livestock, dirty work areas, and all-weather exposure.
Work Setting
The job is located in a rural area.
Responsibilities
- Remove brush, debris, and other waste from fields, pens, and work areas.
- Assist with training and managing farm animal behaviour.
- Clean and disinfect pens, barns, poultry houses, and similar facilities.
- Handle animals safely and appropriately.
- Level ground to the required grade specifications.
- Observe animals and report on their health status.
- Carry out grooming tasks for livestock.
- Feed and care for animals on a regular basis.
- Support the treatment of livestock health concerns.
- Remove weeds from farm areas.
- Operate and look after farm machinery and equipment.
- Help with crop-related work such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying, and harvesting.
- Follow farm safety rules and bio-security measures.
- Keep livestock performance records up to date.
- Maintain production and quality control records.
- Clean stables, barns, barnyards, and animal pens.
- Spot disease and health issues in crops, livestock, and poultry.
- Carry out general farm labor and support tasks.
- Inspect products for quality and market readiness.
- Manage water lines, airflow, and temperature systems in barns, pens, and chicken coops.
