About the role
The Content Scheduler role is responsible for creating and keeping schedule plans accurate, complete, and ready for broadcast across allocated channels and platforms. Working from direction provided by the Content Planner, this position brings together programming, promotional, and commercial requirements using IBMS and connected systems, while staying aligned to channel formats, deadlines, and wider strategy.
This role works closely with internal teams and external partners to gather inputs, fix scheduling issues, and handle last-minute changes with minimal interruption. - Act on feedback from On Air and other stakeholders to protect schedule accuracy and continuity.
- Coordinate information and requirements from Programming, Promotions, Ad Sales, Production, and other teams.
- Partner with offshore teams to keep schedule delivery smooth and consistent.
- Ensure schedules are broadcast-ready through accurate system use, attention to detail, and strong quality checks.
- Work daily with local and international channel and programme suppliers to make sure breaks are scheduled correctly and advertising and promotional opportunities are maximised.
- Apply templates and channel formats consistently across services.
- Support ongoing improvement and a strong “right first time” culture.
- Create accurate and timely metadata for all content.
Requirements
- Prior experience in scheduling or television is preferred, along with a basic understanding of the television industry.
- Experience using an automated scheduling system is preferred.
- Sound understanding of how programme formats affect production, commercial revenue, promotions, and audience experience.
- Good awareness of common sporting codes and how they influence television coverage.
- Competence in Microsoft Office tools, including Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel, at basic, intermediate, or advanced level.
- Understanding of workflows within a television broadcasting environment.
- Working knowledge of Broadcast Standards Authority regulations and their implications.
