Join a global, purpose-led company behind well-known brands such as DEWALT, BLACK+DECKER, CRAFTSMAN, STANLEY, CUB CADET, and HUSTLER. As an Associate Creative Director, you will shape campaign work for one of the brands within The Shop, with a focus on raising the quality of the ideas, simplifying the storytelling, and strengthening execution.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can guide teams through the full creative process, from a brief to polished campaign delivery. You will help teams move beyond the expected, support strong conceptual thinking, and keep work strategically aligned, audience-aware, and commercially practical. The role calls for a player-coach who can mentor others, advocate for the creative, and contribute directly when needed.
What you'll do
- Lead the creative development process for a brand within The Shop.
- Help teams generate sharper, more original, and more strategically grounded ideas.
- Support writers and art directors throughout ideation and production.
- Turn strategic briefs into integrated campaign concepts across broadcast, digital, social, influencer, experiential, retail, and branded content.
- Run brainstorms, creative critiques, and working sessions.
- Present creative concepts to stakeholders and senior leadership with confidence and clarity.
- Protect campaign quality, consistency, and effectiveness across every channel and touchpoint.
- Work closely with Account Management and Creative Strategy throughout the process.
- Help teams adapt to feedback, timeline changes, shifting priorities, and production constraints without losing the strength of the work.
- Keep campaigns on strategy, on brand, and creatively compelling.
- Coach junior creatives and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
- Stay current on culture, advertising, storytelling, and emerging creative formats.
What you need
- A BA degree, or a high school diploma paired with relevant experience.
- At least 6 years of experience in creative campaigning.
- Background leading creative work in an agency setting, an in-house environment, or both, with a portfolio to show the work.
- Strong ability in concept development and integrated campaign thinking.
- Excellent judgment on creative quality, storytelling, and presentations.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and motivate multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience creating campaign work across multiple channels and formats.
- Comfort balancing creative ambition with strategy, deadlines, and production realities.
- Willingness to travel 10% to 15% for photoshoots and related initiatives.
- Working knowledge of creative production workflows and Adobe Creative Suite.
Benefits and rewards
- Competitive compensation package.
- Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage.
- 401(k) plan and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
- Paid time off, including vacation, holidays, and personal days.
- Tuition reimbursement.
- Well-being support programs.
- Discounts on Stanley Black & Decker tools and access to other partner discount programs.
- Access to learning resources, including a digital learning portal, Lean Academy, and online university programs.
- Opportunities to grow across a global company with many brands and career paths.
- An inclusive workplace that values different perspectives and experiences.
- Volunteerism, community impact, and sustainable business practices.
