Position summary

The Utility Courier is responsible for collecting and delivering customer parcels according to the daily schedule and handling issues that come up during the route. In addition, this role fills in for other couriers who are absent on any shift.

Work location and schedule

The job is based at 10026 Marquis Ave, North Battleford, Saskatchewan S9A 2Z2. While the home location is North Battleford, the selected candidate must be willing to cover both the North Battleford and Prince Albert areas.

This is a permanent full-time role with 30 guaranteed hours per week. The regular shift runs Monday to Friday, starting at 8:30 AM. Work is performed on the road.

Compensation

The role pays $21.84 per hour, in line with the collective agreement.

Responsibilities

• Collect customer packages and complete deliveries in accordance with the day’s pickup and drop-off schedule.
• Scan parcels and mail when they are received, delivered, or brought back to the depot at the end of the day.
• Address route-related issues as they occur, coordinating with Dispatch and customers when needed.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks before and after trips using a package scanner and electronic Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (E-DVIR).
• Notify the unit manager if an inspection identifies a problem with the vehicle.

Requirements

• High school completion is required.
• Completion of vocational and business subjects commonly offered at the high school level is expected.
• A valid Class 5 driver’s licence and a clean driving abstract are required to operate delivery vehicles.
• Strong command of English is necessary because the role involves regular communication with different stakeholders.
