Program Overview
Thiess offers vacation students a chance to gain hands-on exposure to the mining industry through a structured 12-week paid program. The experience is based on an operational open-cut coal mine, and for some positions it may involve living in remote or regional areas. Students will also have the opportunity to build professional networks early in their careers by working alongside experienced leaders.

Eligibility
This opportunity is intended for university students in their second or third year who are studying one of the listed disciplines. Applicants must be prepared to relocate to site for the full duration of the program, be available for the entire 12-week period, and be ready to begin a career in mining. Only Australian citizens or permanent residents are eligible. Candidates must also be able to pass a pre-employment medical assessment.
