Technical Translator

Job Overview

We are looking for a meticulous Technical Translator to join the team in Jeddah. In this role, you will translate a wide range of technical materials while preserving accuracy, meaning, and industry-specific terminology. You will work closely with engineering, project, and operations stakeholders to ensure translated content is clear, consistent, and contextually correct.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate technical materials including manuals, specifications, reports, drawings, and standard operating procedures.
• Keep all translated content precise, consistent, and easy to understand.
• Use terminology correctly across relevant technical fields such as engineering, oil & gas, construction, and information technology.
• Check and refine translated documents through proofreading and quality review.
• Coordinate with subject matter experts to capture the correct technical context.
• Maintain and update glossaries as well as translation memory resources.
• Assist with bilingual communication during meetings, emails, and presentations when needed.
• Make sure documents align with company standards and applicable local regulations.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Engineering, or a related discipline is required.
• Between 3 and 7 years of experience in technical translation is expected.
• Strong command of both English and Arabic, including written and spoken fluency.
• Good grasp of technical vocabulary in the relevant industry.
• Experience using translation software and CAT tools such as SDL Trados, MemoQ, or similar.
• Strong editing, proofreading, and communication abilities.
• Capability to manage deadlines and work on several assignments at the same time.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
