About the Role

Ole & Steen is recruiting for a team member to join a new store opening in London. The brand has built a strong reputation as Denmark’s favourite bakery for more than 20 years, known for handcrafted breads, pastries, cakes, single-estate coffee, breakfasts, premium salads, Danish open-faced sandwiches, and freshly made baguettes. The company launched its flagship bakery in Piccadilly Circus in December 2016 to excellent feedback and continues to grow across London.

Key Responsibilities

• Create a warm, welcoming experience for every guest, greeting and thanking them as though they were visiting your own home.
• Talk confidently about food and drinks, use strong product knowledge to guide guests, and help them choose items they will enjoy.
• Enter all orders accurately into the till system.
• Process guest payments quickly and correctly, making sure cash handling and transactions are completed without error.
• Keep money secure and ensure the till balances properly at the end of each shift.
• Take responsibility for stock control and wastage, and alert the manager when supplies are running low and reordering may be needed.
• Maintain a clean, organised, fully stocked section and work area throughout the shift.
• Inspect and clean customer-facing areas, ensuring soap, toilet tissue, and paper towels are always available.
• Follow the cleaning rota and complete daily tasks efficiently in line with brand expectations.
• Escalate any damaged or malfunctioning equipment to the manager promptly.
• Keep appearance, uniform, punctuality, and conduct aligned with company standards at all times.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen and storage areas while complying with all food safety and health and safety procedures.
• Assist with preparing and assembling food items as required.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone with excellent customer service skills who enjoys engaging with a wide range of people. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are important, along with the ability to stay productive in a busy environment and manage several tasks at once. A sharp eye for detail is essential, as well as the stamina to remain standing for long periods. The role also requires manual dexterity for using coffee equipment and handling hot drinks safely, plus comfort working in a loud, fast-moving setting.
