Role overview

Harley House Supported Living in Clacton-on-Sea is hiring a full-time Team Leader for day and night shifts. The position focuses on guiding a support team to provide high-quality, person-centred assistance to a 21-year-old woman with a learning disability and complex needs. The right person will bring strong leadership, consistency, adaptability, and a compassionate approach to helping her build independence, stay engaged, and enjoy a meaningful daily life.

Key duties

• Guide and encourage Support Workers so they provide excellent, person-centred support.
• Set a strong example by demonstrating professional standards and good practice.
• Put care plans, risk assessments, and positive behaviour support approaches into day-to-day use.
• Support the individual with everyday living, community participation, and purposeful activities.
• Encourage independence, informed choice, dignity, and social inclusion.
• Provide safe support for behaviours that may be challenging.
• Track, update, and help maintain support records and reports.
• Help with staff supervision, mentoring, induction, and continued development.
• Assist with rota planning and shift coordination when needed.
• Work alongside family members, healthcare professionals, and outside agencies to support positive outcomes.
• Follow company procedures, policies, and regulatory expectations at all times.

Applicants should have experience supporting people with learning disabilities and complex needs, as well as experience working with behaviour that can be challenging. Prior experience as a senior support worker or team leader is preferred, though leadership potential may also be considered.

Training and induction

• Specialist enhanced training is provided.
